Handmade Leis – created by West High Band & Color Guard Families
On the Hawaiian islands, giving a lei at graduation is a long-standing tradition, a wish for good luck and to show the graduate how much they are loved and appreciated. This custom has been adopted by many West High families. By giving a lei to a graduate, you become a part of this festive tradition that is fun for both the giver and the recipient.
West High Entertainment Unit Parent Association (WHEUPA) parents and students have been making and selling handmade keepsake leis for 17 years. All proceeds STAY with West High Band & Color Guard. Thank you for supporting our long-running fundraiser!
Our $35 Beautiful keepsake sewn lei is handmade with satin ribbon, and the lei is approximately 43” long before being made into a loop. The first color listed is the primary ribbon color of the lei, and the second color listed is the inner/smaller ribbon color. Note that the bow color may be different than shown, but it will coordinate with the ribbon color. Please indicate in “Comments” if a specific bow color is desired, and we’ll do our best to provide it.
Per school policy, no leis may be worn during the Graduation ceremony.
West High School colors are Brown & Gold. The graduation gown is brown.
West High Class of 2025 Class Color is GREEN. There is no "official" shade of green, so we created leis using different greens.
ALL LEIS are available in LIMITED quantities – please order early for best selection!
Additional color variations are available at the Sales Table. Please visit us to choose from additional WHS color combinations, and lots of greens, blues, pinks, purples, and many college colors.
Special Orders
Different ribbon color combinations MAY be available for special order. All special orders take at least 2 weeks to make, so please plan ahead. Special color combinations are $40 (sewn) and $25 (double braided.) Do NOT place a custom order on this website until you contact us at the email below, to confirm that our team can create your custom lei in the timeframe you desire.

Pick Up
Pick up your lei from the WHEUPA sales table at one of the upcoming West High Senior Events or Band Events:
- Senior Parent Meeting on April 23 (in PAC lobby)
- Band Spring Concert on May 30 (in PAC lobby)
- Baccalaureate on June 6 (in Gym lobby)
- Graduation on June 10 (at table on Victor Street, between 2:30pm-4pm - before the ceremony only)
